I was figuring that we'll end up going in thru Loon. Given all the closures in the El Dorado forest this year, expect lots more traffic on the Rubicon this year and more broken junk trying to get thru. I think we'll have to make the call on going all the way to Tahoe closer to our trip - its still got snow and its wet. Last year on the Jeep Jamboree in August, there was still snow

I called today and yes they are still taking votes from constituents.

Could someone post how these senators finally vote? Would help some of us keep track of who to vote for this year... Thanks!

It looks like they postponed a committee vote until next week, when MoonBeam is supposed to present another budget proposal:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2012/05/09/MNV61OFN6H.DTL

If you haven't called, there is still time. And it does sound like there are significant legal questions about raiding the OHV fund as well as the other one. Yet more weird games CA plays to try to avoid tackling the real issue of the budget draining public employees union pensions, etc.

It's unfortunate that the email was sent out on the heels of the meeting. Not all of us get our emails instantly. I called after 4PM and can only hope it has an impact.

I just submitted my reservation request for 11/17-25 - will fine tune that as we get closer to that time as to any side trips to Front Sight, etc, tho I expect I'd just leave the RV in Panamint and drive the Jeep or carpool with someone else heading there.

Wife approved my weekend pass so looks like I am planning on going.

Have only done one partial Rubicon run. From the California side did about 1/3 to 1/2 way in and then back out.

JK unlimited rubicon (so locked front/rear) on 37"s. Just about every undercarriage armor that anyone makes for the the JK. Strong aftermarket bumpers with good attachment points front and rear, and front winch. And I'm full of hot air: york based onboard air, air on warn power plant winch, and power tank.
