Gear lash setting

My front and maybe my rear ring and pinion gears need to be measured and if needed set. I had to remove my front carrier and may need to remove my rear. Does anyone have the means to correctly set gear lash? Contact info is on member roster. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks!

As long as you did not pull the pinion, it should be easy. Why do you have to remove the carriers. What problem did or do you have?

I put needed to replace a seal and while I had it drained I threw in my aussie locker. But it required me to pull the carrier and remove the ring gear…the pinion wasn’t touched. I have the rear to do as well. I just don’t have the specialty tools.

You now need to reset the whole thing. Did you keep the original shims for the pinion. The big thing is getting the torch of the pinion nut correct. I beleive the 35 uses a crush sleeve. You should do a complete rebuild, since you took it apart. Change all the bearings and seals.

It sounds to me you had to pull the ring gear to install (fit) the lunchbox locker.
If you did not do anything else like remove bearings or shims, you should be good to go.
You didn’t really replace anything but the spyder gears, and the ring gear should
accurate enough to bolt back on with no changes.
